Thank you for your interest in the artwork of Dario Scholis. For Dario, art is a vital part of life, not just a mere object of appreciation; it is an expression of our very existence.  With this in mind, Dario has not only created the exquisite individual collectible pieces that you see in this website,  but also several public works. One of his best known public pieces is his design for a September 11 monument which was unveiled in 2002 and which currently stands at the Historic Midtown Train Plaza in the city of Elizabeth, NJ.

He also contributed to the beautification of the Elizabethtown Community Center also in Elizabeth, NJ,  enhancing the center with colorful metal cutouts that have become a permanent part of the facade.

In August 2015, Dario was among the winners for the project of the  Art Outside the Box which was an initiative which selected art pieces to cover traffic control boxes in select towns in Union County, NJ.

Dario has always seen the beauty around him even in difficult situations. The tree image below was made with thousands of pieces from branches that were torn down by the wind during Storm Sandy. The piece is currently at the Trailside Nature and Science Center in Mountainside NJ.

Currently Dario is working on a new delightful line of fused glass pieces incorporating into this medium his traditional colors and motifs.
